TL;DR: We don't collect your data. Everything runs locally in your browser. Your tabs, your bookmarks, your browsing history—it all stays on your device. We can't see it, we don't want to see it, and we've designed the extension so it's technically impossible for us to access it.

Data Collection

ZenTree Tabs does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data outside of your local browser. Period.

We don't have analytics. We don't track usage. We don't know how many people use this extension or how they use it. This is intentional.

Local Storage

The extension stores your preferences (like UI settings, theme choice, and tree state) locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. This data:

AI Processing

The AI tab grouping feature uses MiniLM, a neural network that runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. When you use this feature:

Chrome extensions require explicit permissions. Here's what we ask for and why:

Third Parties

ZenTree Tabs does not share any data with third parties. There are no analytics services, no advertising networks, no tracking pixels. Nothing.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this privacy policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We'll also notify users through the extension's update notes.

That said, our core principle won't change: your data stays on your device.
